B & L completes fuel flexibility project at GE

B & L Mechanical, Inc. has announced the completion of the Fuel Flexibility project to GE’s Greenville, SC facility. The Greenville GE facility manufactures gas turbines and also houses a research and development department.
B & L provided high pressure stainless steel process piping additions which included fabrication and installation of above ground and underground piping. B & L also fabricated and installed three metering skids along with the installation of three pump skids, HTF skids with furnace and vaporizer piping. The project was performed with 100% x-ray of welds on the above ground piping and skids, and 5% random x-ray on the underground piping.
The B & L team worked tirelessly on a 24-hour a day time-line to meet or exceed all of the goals of the project while maintaining GE’s aggressive schedule.
